Caleb's Belize Mission Letter

Dear Friends and Family,

This year I am going to serve as a mission intern to the Latin American country of Belize after my early graduation from Lee’s Summit West High School on July 15, 2012. I will be staying and interning at the Belize Mission & Retreat Center just south of Belize City. I will be led by veteran missionary Basil De Klerk and also missionary Mike Chitter. The goal of the Belize Mission & Retreat Center is to host church teams, mission building teams, medical teams and youth groups, who come to serve the people of Belize. In addition they seize every opportunity for evangelistic outreach, by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, within Belize and Central America, while supporting and empowering local churches and pastors.

During my stay there, I will be assisting incoming mission’s teams with the task of serving the people of Belize through evangelism, vacation bible schools, construction projects, and assisting with medical teams. I will also be working alongside the natives, the fellow missionaries and staff in hopes that it will give me an opportunity to grow closer to the Lord. A typical work day will start around six in the morning and last until four in the afternoon. Of course, I will be flexible and available for all the typical changes in schedule on a mission field.

I will be leaving August 1, 2012 and return May 12, 2013. I may be returning for the holidays to see my family around the end of November towards the end of December. This opportunity was an unexpected surprise. I know it will challenge me in various ways and deepen my relationship with the Lord. The cost of this nine month mission internship with airfare is $7450.  If you would partner with me financially, I would greatly appreciate it.  I am receiving donations for monthly support for the duration of my stay as well as one time donations.  My hope is to raise $800 a month for the duration of my stay along with one time gifts.  Thank you ahead of time for considering supporting me, for those who will support me and all those who are praying for me as I step out in this mission with God.

Thank you again,

Caleb Wilson
